Where did the time go?

wow.  Where has the time gone?  My last post was in July and here it is at the beginning of October.  Things are fine.  Life was crazy busy the last couple of months and I haven't made the time to blog.  I promise to finish posting my MN photos and all that we have been up to the last couple of months over the weekend.  In a nutshell... life is good.  It is Mia's eighth birthday on Saturday so it's sure to be a fun weekend!  Stay tuned for photos and updates soon...

Al and Alma's Boat Cruise & My Birthday

On my birthday, we went on a three hour lake cruise aboard the Bella, a boat from Al and Alma's Charters. Uncle Scot had planned the whole thing as it was a reward for his employees. He hired a face painter for the children and we had a yummy lunch. Mia and Logan played games with their cousins and the other children on the boat. The most fun game- hide and seek. It was nice weather and we all enjoyed it.
After the boat ride, we went to my mom's house for a Chinese dinner and cake. This mommy had a very nice birthday.

June...

I came across a few photos from June that I neglected to post...

I bought a new camera (which I love!) so these are my very first pix.

Mia received her cheerleading trophy for being the number one flyer on her cheerleading squad!

We had a playdate with our pals from the road trip.  We went to our homeowner's park next door and climbed on some rocks.  Had to grab my new camera!

MN Children's Museum

Our overnight at the zoo was cancelled so we found ourselves at the MN Children's Museum in Saint Paul for the day.  Aunt Mariah, Uncle Tyler, and cousin Shyla joined us on our adventure.  Logan liked the Curious George room and building with the giant foam blocks.  Mia thought the water play area was pretty magnificent and she loved spinning in the bilibo toy.  Bubbles were also a big hit and they ended up on faces, heads, arms, legs... everywhere!  Mia and Logan enjoyed the skyways and looking at the big buildings in the city.  We ended the day with a healthy lunch at McDonald's!

Minnehaha Steamboat

After a busy day at the farm and riding the trolley, we decided to end it with a one hour Lake Minnetonka cruise on the old and restored Minnehaha Steamboat.  Cari joined the kids and I for the ride.  The boat was built in 1906, sunk in 1926, raised in 1980, restored in the early 90's and the first public cruise happened in 1996.  It was a neat ride and Mia and Logan especially liked the mighty steam whistle blow.  Our night was completed with an ice cream cone from my favorite place, Adele's Frozen Custard.  A delicious night.
