Day three found us traveling from Smyrna to Chicago- the Friedman's final destination! To avoid city traffic, my travel buddy and I made a smart plan- go to the Indianapolis Children's Museum in the afternoon and then drive to Chicago in the evening. Kids would be tired and traffic would be minimal.
Well... stopped at our first rest stop, ate Subway, and Mia started puking her guts out. Big bummer. Luckily, Kristine was there to help watch Logan while we hung out in the bathroom. I wasn't sure if it was the flu or car sickness. Ugh.
We eventually decided to make our way to Indianapolis again- less than an hour's drive away. I was stressed the entire time, but Mia did okay. We got to the museum and Mia was ready to go explore so we went in. Unbeknownst to us, the time had reverted back an hour and we only had 30 minutes to see the world's largest children's museum. Not wanting to spend $80 for 30 minutes, Kristine worked us a deal and got us all in for free! We didn't see a lot, but we had a lot of fun. Started in the Lego area, then onto the Hot Wheels exhibit, next was Egypt and then we hung out in the library area once the museum shut down.
Later, we decided to make our way to Chicago and zoomed on. Made great time and were welcomed by Grandma Karen with a spaghetti and meatball dinner and then had a slumber party! No more puking from Mia so that was an added bonus.
